Daniil Medvedev recently joked about the blooming bromance between him and compatriot Andrey Rublev.
The former US Open winner shared a social media post that captured the Russians' camaraderie following their exhibition match held in Mexico. Rublev beat the former World No. 1, 6-4; 2-6; 7-6 (7-4) at the iconic Monumental Plaza de Toros Mexico.
Rublev was laughing while looking at Medvedev in the picture as they posed with their respective trophies from the exhibition match.
"Friends on court, friends off court," the caption read.
Medvedev shared the post via his Instagram story and joked about their bromance.
"Love story," Medvedev wrote on his Instagram story, followed by three laughing emoticons.
Coincidentally, while Daniil Medvedev and Rublev were in Mexico, they stayed in the same hotel as renowned singer Louis Tomlinson. Tomlinson was a member of the popular One Direction band. The ATP even shared a video of their meeting in the hotel.

Daniil Medvedev reached the fourth final of the 2023 season at Indian Wells Masters
Daniil Medvedev lost the final of the BNP Paribas Open to Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday, 19 March. The Indian Wells final was the Russian's fourth consecutive final of the season since his shock early exit from the 2023 Australian Open.
The loss against Alcaraz was also the World No. 5's first loss in a final this year. Medvedev recently reflected on his exceptional form and emphasized the importance of winning matches and tournaments.
"For sure when you do well and then you hear some of these stats, it's just great, but at the same time, I know that it comes with wins," Daniil Medvedev said in a press conference after winning his semi-final at Indian Wells.
The 27-year-old further added that he will look back fondly on records like these (reaching four consecutive finals).
"Yeah, it's just great sometimes when you beat some records or become World No. 1 or win a slam that you know that when you're 70 you can still say, Yeah, I remember the year when I made four finals in a row. That's great," he added.
Medvedev will now gear up for the Miami Open, where he is scheduled to play his first match on March 24.
