Martina Navratilova expressed her approval after seeing an image posted by Chris Evert showcasing the girls from the latter's tennis academy participating in a Thanksgiving yoga class.

On Tuesday, November 26, Evert took to X (formerly Twitter) to share an image of several girls from her tennis academy participating in a yoga session. She captioned the image:

"@EvertTennis girls doing a Thanksgiving yoga class...💪🏼🙏🦃"

Navratilova, a long-time friend and former on-court rival of Evert, reacted with a thumbs-up and clap emoji to her compatriot's post.

The Evert Tennis Academy, founded by tennis legend Chris Evert and her brother John in 1996, is a premier training center in Boca Raton, Florida. It is dedicated to developing collegiate and professional players. The academy offers both part-time and full-time programs, with full-time students having access to academic options. Notable alumni include Andy Roddick, Ajla Tomljanovic, and Madison Keys.

Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova were once fierce rivals on the tennis court. However, their relationship evolved into a deep friendship after both retired from the sport. Their bond grew even stronger in recent years as they faced cancer diagnoses, with both women overcoming the disease and supporting each other through their battles.

At the 2024 French Open, the pair of friends and former World No. 1s presented the trophies to winner Iga Swiatek and runner-up Jasmine Paolini. However, Evert later revealed that it was Navratilova's generosity that led to her being present at the event.

In an August interview with Christiane Amanpour, Evert said (at 0:30):

"I have to be honest, I was not on the roster to present that trophy on this big 50th for me. Martina was on the roster and when she heard it was my 50th anniversary, she quickly went to the French federation and said, 'Chrissie has to present this with me, it's her day too.' So, that's how generous of a friend she was and we both got to present which was great."

The 2024 French Open was the 50th anniversary of Evert's first Grand Slam title. The first of her seven titles won on the Parisian clay came in 1974.

Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, both 18-time Grand Slam singles champions, have forged a strong and supportive friendship over the years. Recently, Navratilova marked her 68th birthday surrounded by two of her 'favorite women': her close friend Evert, and her wife, Julia Lemigova.
