Aryna Sabalenka shared a picture of her mother, Yuliya Sabalenka, on a Greek riverside as part of a series of photos from her family vacation also featuring her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis and her sister Tonechka. Aryna Sabalenka bagged her second Grand Slam win of 2024 at Flushing Meadows and has already vacationed in Switzerland with Frangulis.
With 22 career titles in her kitty, the former World No. 1 recently lifted her first US Open title. Having clinched the 2024 Cincinnati Masters, she entered New York as the heavy favorite and reached the final, where she faced the home favorite Jessica Pegula. She defeated the latter in straight sets 7-5, 7-5, taking home her second Grand Slam title in 2024, after the Australian Open.
Soon after her US Open success, she took a trip to Switzerland with her boyfriend and Oakberry founder, Georgios Frangulis. They now appear to be on a family vacation in Greece.
Sabalenka shared her mother Yuliya's photo at beachside, in her Instagram story.
She wrote in a caption,
"My fam enjoy their vacation"
Aryna Sabalenka shared some pictures in an Instagram post as well. In one, she is posing with her mother, sister Tonechka, and her boyfriend at the Acropolis. The Belarusian shared a couple of bikini-clad pictures and a mirror selfie as well. The caption read:
"The people and place that have my heart"
Meanwhile, Yuliya's Instagram also shows some photos from Greece, featuring the sea from the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel in Athens, the Parthenon at the Acropolis in Athens, and one of herself in a white bikini.
Aryna Sabalenka lost her father, Sergey Sabalenka, to meningitis in 2019.
Aryna Sabalenka's mother wanted Grand Slam 'triplets' from her daughter
The Belarusian won her first Grand Slam title at the 2023 Australian Open, ousting formidable rivals in the initial rounds. She faced the Kazakhstani player Elena Rybakina in the finals and defeated her by three sets. At the 2024 Australian Open, the 27-year-old succesfully defended her title, adding her second Grand Slam trophy to her wall of fame.
After her victory, her mother Yuliya Sabalenka showed off her daughter's trophies in an Instagram post, adding she wished for 'triplets' but the third one from a different Grand Slam.
The caption read,
"Twins 👯♀️ 🏆🏆 I want at least triplets!!! And we need to diversify the collection somehow 🤞🤞🤞"
Aryna Sabalenka will next take to the court at the 2024 China Open, set to start on September 26, 2024.
