Elina Svitolina recently shared a heartwarming picture of herself spending some quality time with her daughter Skai. This sweet moment came after Svitolina underwent foot surgery which led to an early end to her season.
Svitolina had an impressive start to the 2024 season, making it to the finals of the ASB Classic, where she missed out on the title to defending champion Coco Gauff.
The Ukrainian competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments - she reached the fourth round at the Australian Open but had to retire due to a lower back injury during her match against Linda Noskova.
At the French Open and Wimbledon Championships, she reached the fourth round and quarterfinals, respectively, before being defeated by Elena Rybakina. In the US Open, Svitolina reached the third round but was ultimately bested by Coco Gauff.
After her run at the New York Major, Elina Svitolina underwent foot surgery which subsequently brought her 2024 season to an early close. She has since been focusing on her recovery and spending precious time at home with her two-year-old daughter Skai.
Svitolina recently shared an adorable picture of herself and Skai enjoying some downtime together by watching cartoons.
"Cartoon time 😌," Svitolina captioned her Instagram story.
Svitolina married French tennis player Gael Monfils on July 16, 2021. The tennis couple announced the birth of their daughter Skai in October 2022.

Earlier this year, during a press conference, Elina Svitolina's husband, Gael Monfils, praised her as a "great" mother.
“She’s a great mother first. That’s first. People want to put tennis first but I think she’s a great mother first. This is the most important for me as her husband because of course we are a tennis couple but life is beyond our sport,” Gael Monfils said [as quoted by PEOPLE magazine].
Monfils expressed that the former World No. 3 is a "tough" woman and that he was in awe of her physical and mental strength.
“She’s an excellent and great mother. I’m surprised how how strong she is mentally and physically. It’s just amazing, she’s a tough woman,” he added.
Following an early end to her 2024 season, Elina Svitolina will make a comeback on the court in 2025.
