Former World No. 1 Andy Murray was full of praise for professional basketball player Stephen Curry after his extraordinary performance against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.
The British tennis legend seemed to get a kick out of watching basketball after recently bowing out of the 2023 Indian Wells. He defeated the likes of Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Radu Albot but couldn't fend off fellow countryman Jack Draper in the third round at the Masters 1000 event.
While taking some time away from his busy schedule, Murray took to his social media account on Twitter and hailed Stephen Curry's game and the talented NBA star's ability to entertain on the basketball court.
"Stephen Curry is pure box office, one of the favorite athletes to watch #NBA," tweeted Andy Murray.
The 35-year-old has never hidden his interest in the popular American sport. He's been spotted meeting famous personalities such as Yao Ming and British basketball star Luol Deng in the past.
Murray has always been a loyal Golden State Warriors fan (the team Stephen Curry represents) and was delighted to see them lift the title in 2018. Despite looking up to LeBron James for inspiration, the Brit supported Curry's team and showed his favoritism to his fans.

Andy Murray feels honored to receive praise from his colleagues for his brilliant performances in the 2023 season. The Brit has chalked up eight wins from 12 matches, defeating quality players such as Matteo Berrettini and Alexander Zverev.
Most of his matches have gone down to the wire and the Brit has managed to edge out his opponents on most occasions. He recently reflected on his performances over the last year and a half and also showed his appreciation for players messaging him about his recent success.
“It’s nice getting messages from those players. Obviously, I have a lot of respect for them,” Andy Murray said during an interview with The Times. "It’s not happened in my career before, I’m aware that the matches I’ve had this year have been ridiculous. It seems that I have had six, seven matches in a row that were all epic ones."
"I've had multiple conversations with my team last year, especially at the back end, and I just couldn’t win a tight match. I was like, When I win one or two of these it is going to change. I’m not going to keep losing these matches by a few points or a couple of games. Obviously, it’s been a pretty dramatic shift, Andy Murray added.
