Sebastian Korda could become a major threat at this year's Wimbledon, feels former tennis player Patrick McEnroe.

Korda has had a remarkable start to his campaign in 2023. He commenced the new season at the Adelaide International 1. The American secured four back-to-back wins in straight sets to reach the final of the tournament. He put up an exceptional fight against Novak Djokovic in the summit clash before going down in three sets.

The 22-year-old was also impressive at the Australian Open. He defeated higher-ranked Daniil Medvedev and Hubert Hurkacz to reach the quarterfinals of a Major for the first time.

In a conversation on the Holding Court with Patrick McEnroe podcast, McEnroe discussed several American players that could go on to become a major threat at Wimbledon. He believes that Sebastian Korda looks the most threatening of them all.

"Wimbledon, you gotta think Fritz, he was there last year, you gotta think Shelton to be dangerous if he gets used to the bounce when you're playing on grass for the first time. Paul, I mean he's got a solid... he takes the ball early, could be good. But, I think Korda... I mean, to me, Korda is a guy like 'wow'," said the 56-year-old.

McEnroe feels that the World No. 26 will be a "legit threat" at Wimbledon if he adds a "little more pop" on the serve.

"If he could put it together, we'll see how the wrist is, haven't heard any updates on the wrist injury that he suffered against Khachanov. But, if he can add a little more meat to the bones, get a little more pop on the serve, I know we have talked about that. I mean, he looks to me like a guy that's a legit threat at Wimbledon," he said.

Brad Gilbert believes Sebastian Korda can be a top-5 player if he improves his serve

Andre Agassi's former coach Brad Gilbert also claimed that Sebastian Korda could break into the top 5 of the ATP rankings if he can improve his serve.

Speaking on the aforementioned podcast, Gilbert opined that the young American could '"elevate his game instantly" if he had a "bam of a serve."

"The bigger guys, they don't play huge tennis. Korda's kind of in that range, but I do think if he had a bam of a serve, that would really elevate his game instantly. He should definetely be a top 5... top 3 player if he had a big serve," said the 61-year-old.
