Jimmy Connors wished his wife Patti McGuire on their 45th anniversary and paid a short yet heartwarming tribute to her.

Connors, who previously had a high-profile relationship with Chris Evert, married McGuire in 1979. The couple have two children, a son named Brett, who co-hosts the Advantage Connors podcast with his father, and a daughter named Aubree.

Patti McGuire is a former model who was Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1977 and was the cover model for the magazine's November 1976 issue.

Connors took to Twitter to wish his wife on their anniversary and said that she changed his life 45 years ago.

"Happy Anniversary @PattiConnors - as another year has passed - we continue to defy the odds— you changed my life 45 years ago- and we are still on a roll — more to come!!!!" Connors' tweet read.

Noted sports reporter Ed Werder congratulated the couple on their anniversary and Jimmy Connors responded to his tweet by stating that McGuire still puts up with him and that he's a lucky guy.

"Hope you and your are well— and yes- she still puts up with me— I’m a lucky guy," the 70-year-old said.

Jimmy Connors recently opined that Carlos Alcaraz should not be bothered about what other people think about his schedule while speaking on the Advantage Connors podcast with his son Brett.

The former World No. 1's defense of the Spaniard came after many felt that he should have competed in hardcourt tournaments in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai instead of claycourt events in Buenos Aires and Rio.

Connors stated that Alcaraz should only be concerned about himself and getting back to his level before he was injured.

"Why should he (Carlos Alcaraz) even give a sh*t about what anybody thinks or says? It's his career, his body, his confidence to come back and get back to where he was before the injuries," Jimmy Connors said.
"Why should he really care about what anybody thinks or says? It's all about what's good for him to get back to where he wants to be to play in these big events coming up," he added.

Jimmy Connors' tally of 489 hardcourt wins was recently equaled by Andy Murray after the Brit beat Jiri Lehecka in the semifinals of the Qatar Open in Doha.
