The Spaniard had a break point in the opening game of the match and eventually broke the Dane to win the first set 6-4. He put on a solid performance in the second set to register a 6-4, 6-2 victory and set up a semifinal clash with his compatriot Rafael Nadal.
Medvedev and Rune were both eliminated in the opening round of the Six Kings Slam but they will earn $1.5 million each, which is the minimum prize money at the exhibition event.
The Russian's quarterfinal against Jannik Sinner lasted just 69 minutes, which means he will earn around $21,739 per minute. Holger Rune will earn $20,833 per minute, as his semifinal against Carlos Alcaraz lasted 72 minutes.

The last competitive encounter between them took place in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Madrid Open, with Carlos Alcaraz winning 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner will square off just days after locking horns in the final of the Shanghai Masters, which the Italian won 7-6(4), 6-3. The head-to-head between the two is currently tied at 4-4, with Sinner winning four out of their last five meetings.
No match will take place on October 18 and the third-place playoff and the final will both be played on October 19. The winner of the Six Kings Slam will earn $6,000,000.
