World No. 3 Stefanos Tsitsipas and star tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou are rumored to have parted ways, as per recent reports. The split supposedly happened shortly after the 2023 Australian Open, where Tsitsipas reached the second Grand Slam final of his career.

While Mouratoglou was not Tsitsipas' head coach, he was a regular presence in the Greek star's coaching unit. Tsitsipas even regularly trained at Mouratoglou's tennis academy in Nice, France, as part of the agreement.

Additionally, Mouratoglou and members from his academy were at times also seen in Tsitsipas' box during matches. In exchange, the academy was allowed to use Tsitsipas' imagery to promote their training facilities.

The collaboration between the two began back in 2015, when a 17-year-old Tsitsipas started training at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy. Tsitsipas will apparently no longer train at the academy as a result of the split, which was reported by Greek publication Sports Feed.

Stefanos Tsitsipas' coaching team will continue to be led by his father Apostolos alongside former World No. 8 Mark Philippoussis. Both Apostolos and Phillippoussis were part of the Greek's team throughout the Australian Open.

Mouratoglou has worked with Serena Williams and Simona Halep in the past, and is currently working with Holger Rune. He was largely absent from Tsitsipas' player box at the Australian Open.

Tsitsipas has had a successful start to the 2023 season, winning 12 of his first 13 matches. That includes victories in both his matches in a Davis Cup group stage tie shortly after the Australian Open. The Greek's only loss came to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final.

Tsitsipas' next tournament is the upcoming Rotterdam Open, an ATP 500 tournament.

Patrick Mouratoglou has backed Stefanos Tsitsipas to win a Grand Slam tournament sooner or later. Although the French coach feels it is the "hardest time" now to win a Slam, with Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal continuing their dominance at the top level, he said that Daniil Medvedev and Tsitsipas are the biggest challengers to the Big 2.

Mouratoglou believes Tsitsipas will find a way to get over the line in a Grand Slam final soon. Tsitsipas has lost both Major finals he has played in so far, both to Djokovic.

"It is the hardest time to win a Grand Slam but @DaniilMedwed has won one and @steftsitsipas made two finals and several semis of GS and I am 100% sure he will find a way," Mouratoglou wrote on Twitter.

Tsitsipas' next bid for a Grand Slam title will come at the French Open, where he reached his maiden Major final in 2021.
