Serena Williams recently collaborated with Succession actor Brian Cox for a Super Bowl 2023 commercial for Michelob Ultra.

The two celebrities assumed the role of golfers as part of the advertisement. During his latest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Brian Cox divulged the details of his eventful encounter with Serena Williams.

The renowned actor admitted that spending a day golfing with the tennis legend in Miami was certainly a rare experience. He touched upon Williams’ personality and revealed that the 23-time Grand Slam champion isn’t fond of the sport, but played the part convincingly anyway.

“It’s not everyday that you play golf with Serena Williams. Serena was interesting ‘cause she doesn’t really like golf,” he laughed, adding, “She is very contained and she was doing the ball, and she would do it. That was in Miami, where we filmed it.”

The Succession actor further revealed that, despite her golfing inexperience, Williams practiced during the days leading up to the Super Bowl and came out with all the guns blazing during the actual event in Phoenix, Arizona. He jokingly called the 41-year-old “secretive” for bringing her A-game, supposedly without warning.

“And then later on, we came to Phoenix to watch the game – to watch the actual Super Bowl. And she was amazing, ‘cause she’d been practicing and she’d been practicing her swing. And she was extraordinary. And I thought, ‘You know, you’re so secretive.’ I got crazy,” Brian Cox revealed.
