Taylor Fritz's coach Michael Russell has reflected on the positive results of their partnership in the last 15 months on the ATP tour.

The 25-year-old has put up noteworthy performances, chalking up title-winning runs at the 2022 Indian Wells Masters, Eastbourne International, Tokyo Open, and most recently the 2023 United Cup.

He finished the 2021 season outside the top 20 of the ATP rankings. However, he is currently ranked inside the top 10 and is two places away from breaking into the top five. Fritz's coach Michael Russell shared a picture of his latest ATP profile card and acknowledged the American's remarkable progress.

"Career high No. 7 this week from No. 30 in 15 months of working together full time," Michael Russell said

The California-born tennis professional reached his first-ever Grand Slam quarterfinal at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. He defeated Lorenzo Musetti, Alastair Gray, Alex Molcan, and Jason Kubler but couldn't fend off former World No. 1 Rafael Nadal in the last eight.

However, thanks to such performances, he's managed to build a strong reputation for himself on the ATP tour. The American had spoken about his goals in an interview last year and is nearing his wish of entering the top five of the ATP rankings. He was also looking forward to making a Grand Slam final appearance in 2023.

"I would say this year worked great for me. I hit all the goals that I set out to achieve. I can be greedy and say I wanted it to be even better, but I really can’t complain with achieving a lot of the things I set out to do this year. I want to be in the top five in the world and I want to have a big, deep run at a Grand Slam, maybe make a Grand Slam final. Win, obviously, but make a final," Taylor Fritz said in a recent interview with the LA Times.

Taylor Fritz will take on Emilio Gomez in the second round of the Delray Beach Open on Friday. The American is the top seed at the ATP 250 event and received a first-round bye due to his ranking superiority.

While defending champion Reilly Opelka has not participated this year, Tommy Paul, Mackenzie McDonald, and Miomir Kecmanovic are among the favorites to stake their claim for the title in Florida.

If Fritz manages to win his bout, he could square off against Adrian Mannarino or J.J. Wolf in the quarterfinals.
