Daniil Medvedev has admired the cartoon caricature of himself mimicking his unorthodox tennis stance and has called it a piece of art.

Medvedev is nicknamed 'octopus' due to his lanky frame, his unique playing style, and his ability to move freely across the court. A cartoonist decided to embody Medvedev's signature style in a cartoon drawn mimicking his stance on the court.

An account on Twitter dedicated to tennis and art decided to share the image of the cartoon and tagged the artist behind the accurate cartoon. The account also tagged Daniil Medvedev and added an octopus emoji to the caption.

The same account also shared the inspiration behind the cartoon, which shows the 27-year-old on the court in the same stance.

The Russian, who is known to have a good sense of humor, took the image in his stride and responded to the caricature, calling it a piece of art.

"That’s what I call a piece of art!" Medvedev tweeted

Daniil Medvedev, during his runner-up speech at this year's Indian Wells Masters, joked that he had a toxic relationship with the court and thanked the court for bearing with him during the tournament.

"I've never said this...but I've had a pretty toxic relationship with the courts here.'We've had a lot of love, hate moments. So I would like to thank the court. I only played on this court, so I would like to thank this court," the Russian said.
I was giving it a hard time, so it gave me a hard time with a rolled ankle, the thumb. But it gave me a chance to finish the tournament so, thanks a lot to the court and I will definitely be back," Medvedev joked.

Daniil Medvedev is set to compete in the second half of the 'Sunshine Double' at the Miami Open. The Russian fell short of one win to lift the BNP Paribas Open trophy as he was outclassed by Spain's Carlos Alcaraz 6-3, 6-2 in the final on Monday (March 20).

Medvedev is gunning for his fifth ATP Masters 1000 title in Miami and will begin his campaign on Friday (March 24). Last year, Medvedev shockingly lost in the quarterfinals against eighth-seeded Hubert Hurkacz 7-6, 6-3.

In 2021, Medvedev could not cross the quarterfinal hurdle and was defeated by Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 6-2. In 2019, Swiss legend Roger Federer, who went on to win the Miami Open title that year, defeated the Russian in straight sets in the third round.

Daniil Medvedev's best result at the Miami Open was him reaching the quarterfinals consecutively in 2021 and 2022.
