Rennae Stubbs likened soccer star Alex Morgan's goal against Brazil in the SheBelieves Cup to a Rafael Nadal forehand down the line.

The United States Women's National Team won the eighth edition of the SheBelieves Cup by defeating Brazil 2-1 at the Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

Morgan set the tone for the USWNT by scoring a brilliantly-executed left-footed goal just before half time. The Stars and Stripes doubled their lead just after the hour-mark through Mallory Swanson, who scored her fourth goal of the SheBelieves Cup. Brazil managed to pull one back thanks to Liudmila but by then, it was too little, too late.

United States finished top of the standings ahead of Japan, Brazil and Canada to win the SheBelieves Cup for the fourth consecutive time and the sixth time overall.

Morgan's curling strike was lauded by many, including Rennae Stubbs. The former doubles World No. 1 said that her shot swung like one of Nadal's forehands down the line.

Rafael Nadal is yet to play a match since the Australian Open. The Spaniard suffered a second-round defeat to Mackenzie McDonald and suffered a hip injury during the match.

The Spaniard has already withdrawn from the Qatar Open and the Dubai Tennis Championships, and most recently pulled out of his exhibition match against Carlos Alcaraz in Las Vegas.

"I am very sad for not being able to come to Vegas and play in this amazing event with Carlos at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Unfortunately, the timing of my recovery doesn't make it possible to be there ready to play," he said.

"I am sure that we will find another date to celebrate this event and have fun. I would like to thank the fans and event organizers who have been in contact with me all the time, showed a lot of support and have been extremely understanding," he added.

The 36-year-old is on the entry list for the Indian Wells and Miami Masters, but it's yet to be seen if he is fit enough to compete in either tournament. He has to defend 600 points in Indian Wells as he reached the final last year before losing to Taylor Fritz.
