Emma Raducanu played probably her best level of tennis of late to beat world No. 13 Beatriz Haddad Maia 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 and move into the fourth round at Indian Wells 2023 on Monday. The unseeded Raducanu thus clinched her biggest win by ranking since her historic 2021 US Open triumph, causing great excitement in the tennis fan community.

Raducanu has now won three matches in a row, for just the second time since winning the US Open as an 18-year-old qualifier. Earlier this week, she beat Danka Kovinic and Magda Linette, both in straight sets.

Courtesy of the win against Haddad Maia, Raducanu also reached the Round of 16 at a WTA 1000 event for the first time in her career, where she will face either Iga Swiatek or Bianca Andreescu, in what promises to be a thriller either way.

As the Briton superstar showcased some of her best form, particularly in a highly competitive deciding set against Haddad Maia, many fans were left in awe, opining that Raducanu might just be back to her very best. A few others also defended her from the criticism she has received from naysayers of late.

Here's how fans on Twitter reacted to Emma Raducanu's latest win at Indian Wells:

Emma Raducanu has delighted her fans and well-wishers by announcing that she is now feeling much better, fitness-wise. Despite a grueling battle against Beatriz Haddad Maia, Raducanu said she was feeling quite well physically. However, her preparation for the Indian Wells event has been challenging, as she has faced various injuries and health concerns, some of which caused her to be uncertain about her participation at one stage.

Raducanu stated in her post-match press conference on Monday:

"I'm feeling pretty good, to be honest. I did just come off a three-setter, but yeah, I'm physically a lot better."

Raducanu is already poised to earn points this week and climb up the rankings after Indian Wells, having surpassed her previous best result in the tournament. The world No. 77, who received a wildcard to compete in Indian Wells, will also play the Miami Open main-draw with the help of a main-draw wildcard. Indian Wells is her first tournament this season since the Australian Open.
