John McEnroe's brother Patrick and stand-up comedian Michael Kosta poked fun at pickleball in a recent The Daily Show skit. Kosta played host while McEnroe's brother Patrick was the guest.

It was Kosta who initiated the discussion about pickleball, which is the fastest-growing racquet sport in the United States.

"Let's talk about pickleball. What is this craze?" Kosta asked Patrick.

In his response, McEnroe's brother, Patrick, laid bare the aspect of pickleball that he finds the most annoying.

According to the 57-year-old, pickleball courts are slowly but surely "taking over" several tennis courts across the United States and Canada. He also demanded the sport to get away from existing tennis facilities.

"Well, the thing that annoys me about it, Michael, is that the pickleball courts are taking over 35% or so of the tennis courts here in the US and in Canada. Hey, get off our tennis turf," Patrick said.

Following this exchange, Kosta went on to hilariously compare a set of tennis balls and a set of pickleball balls. The comedian said that the tennis balls smelled like fine wine. However, when he took out a sack of pickleball balls, Patrick asked:

"Oh my God what the hell is that?"

Kosta remarked:

"This looks like an old guy's ba*ls*ck."

Jack Sock, a former American No. 1, announced in August last year that he would be pulling the curtains down on his tennis career after the 2023 US Open. Sock played his last tennis match in mixed doubles at 2023's last Grand Slam alongside eventual women's singles champion Coco Gauff.

A few months before his retirement, the American made his pickleball debut, and following his retirement from tennis, he started playing the sport full-time on the Carvana PPA Tour.

Recently, a video from an event prior to the Pickleball Slam 2 surfaced, where John McEnroe poked fun at Sock for becoming a pickleball player.

"Jack, I wanna say goodbye man. I can’t believe he helped me win the Laver Cup, I lost four times in a row. This guy helped us win the Laver Cup and then he becomes a professional pickleball player," McEnroe said.

Sock is currently ranked World No. 13 on the Carvana PPA Tour.
