Several fans reacted to Sportico's recently released list of the top 15 highest-paid female athletes. The list is dominated by tennis players, including stars like Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, and Aryna Sabalenka.
Gauff concluded the 2024 season with a WTA Finals victory and topped Sportico's list for the second consecutive year, earning $30.4 million from salary and endorsements. This marks a significant increase from the $22.7 million she earned last year.
Following Gauff, Swiatek ranked third with $21.4 million, while Zheng Qinwen secured fourth place with $20.6 million. Aryna Sabalenka, Naomi Osaka, and Emma Raducanu claimed the fifth, sixth, and seventh spots, earning $17.7 million, $15.9 million, and $14.7 million, respectively.
Other tennis players on the list included Jessica Pegula with $8.2 million, Jasmine Paolini with $10 million, and Elena Rybakina with $7.9 million.

The list, however, left several tennis enthusiasts shocked with one questioning Raducanu and Sabalenka's earnings. They wrote:
"WHO THE F**k IS GIVING RADUCANU 15 million and sabalenka 8 million , don’t piss me off."
"omg only $4M in endorsements ??? my girl is lowks poor," a fan commented.
"Raducanu still raking in the money based on one title run three years ago is insane," a fan said.
Here are a few more reactions from the fans:
"Only 7.9M? Oh rybakina you better sell that porsche," a fan chimed in.
A fan linked the reason for Sabalenka earning less than Zheng to the economic differences between their countries.
"The curse of being born in authoritarian countries like Belarus... sigh. And well, Belarus not being rich like China because Zheng's earnings are huge," they said.
"Paolini skyrocketed," a fan wrote.
Coco Gauff who topped Sportico's list, elevated her career earnings to nearly $20 million after WTA Finals win
Coco Gauff, who topped Sportico's list, earned an impressive $4.8 million in prize money after her victory at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. With that, she also catapulted her career earnings to $20 million.
The American, competing in the Orange Group, advanced to the semifinals with victories over Jessica Pegula and Iga Swiatek, suffering her only group-stage loss to Barbora Krejčíková. She triumphed over Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals before defeating Zheng Qinwen in the final.
Following the match, Gauff said that she didn't exactly know the amount that she had won.
“I didn’t know, like I knew it was some money, but I didn’t know that much,” she said, adding “that’s a lot of money," ( she said via Forbes.)
The 20-year-old joined an elite group of 14 women in the $20 million earnings club, including Martina Navratilova and Steffi Graf. She also became the fourth player born in the 2000s, male or female, to achieve this milestone.
