Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem has registered yet another loss at the ongoing Indian Wells Masters in California. This has left fans heartbroken as he has been unable to recreate title-winning results from earlier in his career.

Thiem fell to France's Adrian Mannarino in the first round of the Indian Wells Masters in three sets 4-6, 6-4,7-6 (5) on Friday, March 10. He has only been able to win one of the nine matches he has played this year.

Thiem won the 2020 US Open after an epic five-set match against Germany's Alexander Zverev. However, since mid-2021, the Austrian has been struggling with a right-hand wrist injury and has not been able to produce the same level of strokes or results.

Following his Indian Wells Masters loss, fans took to Twitter to share their observations of Thiem's performance.

"Dominic Thiem’s forehand late 2019-2020 was the biggest and most devastating groundstroke weapon on the ATP Tour. No exaggeration, now it’s a total shell of what it was and it’s really tough to watch him unable to sort it out," one fan tweeted.
"His comeback started over a year ago and there is no improvement in his forehand i think the fh will never come back like before," another fan tweeted.
