Martina Navratilova recently clapped back at a troll after criticizing Elon Musk. She had labeled the tech billionaire "toxic" for publicly sharing the names of government employees he wants removed from their positions.
Musk will officially head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a newly formed department in the incoming Donald Trump-led administration in the US. Many have perceived this publicizing as an instigation of a witch hunt, considering his monumental influence on X.
On November 28, Navratilova joined an X user in criticizing Musk for his decision and wrote:
"Who is going to stop this toxic man?"
One user responded to the legendary player, calling her a "washed-up tennis ball chaser" as well as a "loser."
"Not a washed-up tennis ball chaser, for sure. Enjoy the show, loser," the user wrote.
While her best days might be behind her, Martina Navratilova never backed down from a challenge during her playing days and didn't remain mute to this comment as well. She responded to the user, thanking them for making her laugh.
"Lol. You feel better now, big man?:) thanks for the laugh," the 18-time Grand Slam champion wrote.
The user in question responded once more to Navratilova wishing her a good thanksgiving, admitting that he's felt better since November 5th (the date of the US election). The legendary player, however, hasn't engaged since then.
Martina Navratilova: "Elon Musk has rigged the system in a big way"
This was not the first time Martina Navratilova commented on Musk, who has emerged as a prominent figure among the Republican movement in the US in recent times. The billionaire is quite open about his stances and shares them frequently on X.
Navratilova opposes most of his positions and has called him out in the past. She famously said that buying Twitter was his best invention because it helped him rig the system.
"Elon has rigged the system in a big way. Buying twitter was his best investment ever," Navratilova wrote.
The American has also called him a loser before for his open support of President-elect Donald Trump, whom she has heavily criticized both during his first tenure as President and since then.
