Sabine Lisicki hits the fastest recorded serve in women's tennis

Sabine Lisicki has broken the record for the fastest female serve after serving a 131 mph (210.8 Kph) monster in her match against Ana Ivanovic at the Stanford Classic.

The German was serving at 5-5, 40-30 when she hit a massive serve. Ivanovic did get her racket onto the ball as she hit her forehand long. However, the Serb went onto win the match 7-6 (2), 6-1.

The previous record was held by American Venus Williams when she served 129 mph (207.6 kph) at the 2007 US Open. Lisicki was elated at entering the record books. She tweeted about it.
