#3 Serena Williams v Venus Williams, 2002 Wimbledon Final

Williams sisters after the 2002 Wimbledon final

Despite being an underdog in the Wimbledon final against her sister, Venus Williams, a two-time defending champion, Serena won the final comfortably with a 7-6(4), 6-3 scoreline. Serena looked sharper right from the start. Venus fought hard in the first set but wasn't able to dominate her younger sister. In the second set, a gritty Serena took control of the match and won it quite easily as Venus looked tired. The sisters didn't display their best form at the same time, but sometimes the tennis was breath-taking.

After this victory, Serena moved to the top of the rankings for the first time in her career. A position, which she has held for 319 weeks.

This was her first Wimbledon title and 3rd Grand Slam. This was also the first tournament which she had won without losing a set.
