Denis Shapovalov vs Arthur Rinderknech preview
Fifth seed Denis Shapovalov of Canada will take on Arthur Rinderknech of France in the round of 32 of the BOSS Open 2025 in Stuttgart.
Shapovalov has had a very ordinary year so far. He managed to win only a couple of matches in the entire European clay swing. He reached the third round of the Madrid Open and the second round of the French Open, and got beaten in his very first matches at both Monte-Carlo Masters and the Italian Open. Thus, the Canadian is still struggling to find some form midway through the year.
Rinderknech, in comparison, won a solitary match in the four big tournaments he played in the European clay swing. He also reached the round of 16 at the Geneva Open, which was his best showing in any ATP tournament this year.

The two players have clashed thrice so far, with Shapovalov winning two of those matches. The Canadian won their last clash at 2022 Wimbledon in five sets.

Denis Shapovalov vs Arthur Rinderknech prediction
Shapovalov's current form might not support it, but he can be a top-class player when on song. His forehand is vicious and his one-handed backhand dangerous, which can cause trouble to any opponent on a given day.
The 26-year-old Canadian is a former Wimbledon semifinalist, which goes on to show his ability on the surface. He knows how to play well on grass and his explosive game could prove to be a handful on the surface.
However, Shapovalov's ranking has plummeted to 30th at the moment, but he was a top-10 player almost five years back. Rinderknech will try to exploit the drop in form of the Canadian with his big serve. The Frenchman can himself be a dangerous customer on fast grass and might be able to take Shapovalov into the third set. However, the Canadian's superior quality should see him through in the end. Rinderknech's serve should, however, help him win at least one of the sets on Tuesday in Stuttgart.
Pick: Shapovalov to win in three sets.
