Video : Williams and Azarenka react to Western & Southern Open final

Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams reflect on their three set final in the Cincinnati Masters on Sunday (18th August).

Serena Williams said : “I think she played really well. I think she played really aggressive in the last two sets which really changed momentum. And I think she’s a great player. There’s a reason why she’s you know, winning Grand Slams and doing so well.”“no I think we have, some of our matches, we have good matches. We have tough matches. Particularly against her we go against each other really tough so I think it’s a good rivalry. I’m number one, she’s number two so we have that rivalry which consists of meeting in the final which makes it even more exciting. So yes, I personally was thinking it is a good rivalry and it’s good to have someone out there who can play hard and fight so tough.”

Victoria Azarenka said :“It was a great (tournament) the entire week and especially the final was dramatic and really a tough battle against the best player in the world and I couldn’t ask for a better opponent. So I was really happy with the way I played today, the way I fought and to finally have some success here in Cincinnati was incredible. It’s been a tough couple of last years with injury but I’m glad I’m back, feeling healthy, feeling strong and it was a great week before the US Open.”
