Serena Williams once spoke sarcastically about her relationship with her sister Venus.

Serena and Venus were very close from a young age. They trained together under their father Richard and Rick Macci's guidance to become two of the most prominent figures in tennis.

The duo excelled not just in singles but also in doubles, sharing a whopping 30 Grand Slam singles titles between them. They also won 14 doubles titles together, boasting a flawless 14-0 record in the finals.

The Williams sisters participated in the 2012 Miami Open where Serena was seeded No. 10 while Venus received a wildcard. Interestingly, they both got knocked out in the quarterfinals by Caroline Wozniacki and eventual champion Agnieszka Radwanska.

During a press conference after her second-round victory over Zhang Shuai, Serena Williams was asked about her bond with her older sister. She sarcastically replied that they were so close it felt like they had the relationship of a married couple.

"Yeah, we probably should have ‑‑ probably should have moved out a long‑‑ honestly, it's ridiculous now. Like we have kind of held each other back now. Hey, we're in for the long run. That's like my husband," Serena said.

She added:

"No, yeah, we talk about a lot of things. We're always laughing together. You know, I tell her everything, so it's fun. You know, she's really fun. Obviously she's really fun."

When asked if Venus helped her with fashion, Serena confirmed, saying they both give each other a lot of feedback.

"She helps me out a lot," the 23-time Major champion said. "She always asks me for advice. Like her latest collection, she's like, What do you think? I was like, I don't like this and change it, and she changed it. And now it came what I said I thought was better. So we give a lot of feedback, and she gives me feedback on my collection, too. It's cool. It's really fun."

Serena Williams won 23 Grand Slam titles before retiring at the 2022 US Open, while Venus Williams, with seven Majors, is still active.

Serena's most successful Grand Slams were the Australian Open and Wimbledon, where she clinched seven titles each. Besides that, she lifted six US Open trophies with the French Open being her least successful Major as she won the tournament only three times.

Meanwhile, Venus found significant success on grass, winning five of her seven Slams at Wimbledon (2000, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2008). She also has two New York Major titles (2000 & 2001) but has never won the Australian Open and French Open.
