As The Bold and the Beautiful plot revealed recently, the infighting within Forrester Creations has taken a nasty turn. Steffy's whimsical decision to fire Hope has resulted in Hope and Carter pushing for a coup, which may drive the Forresters out of their family-owned business.
Brooke has informed Ridge about the misunderstanding and Hope and Carter's romance. However, Ridge asked Carter to end his relationship, blaming Hope for all the problems.
One of the long-running daily soap operas, CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful has always presented the friction between Steffy and Hope. However, this is the first time that Ridge has bad-mouthed Brooke's daughter, Hope. As fans know, the soap, which premiered in 1987, revolves around the Forrester family and its association with the Logan family and the Spencer family.

After knowing the whole truth, Ridge Forrester was expected to smooth out the friction and undo Steffy's rash decision. However, he continued to support his daughter, inviting negative reactions from some fans. One viewer going by the name Rob Lewis commented:

Rob was replying to a comment on a reaction thread on The Bold and the Beautiful Facebook fan page from another viewer named Scharon Patterson. Patterson questioned why Ridge was not confronting Steffy about her decision.
Many fans believed that Ridge blindly supported Steffy. While some thought he was a wimp, others said he treated Steffy like a perfect queen.
Some others pointed out that he needed to take a stand and talk to Eric about the mess.
However, a few fans thought Hope was more at fault than Steffy, and Ridge supported the correct decision.

Ridge backed Steffy's decision to fire Hope. Then, Brooke Logan spilled the beans about her daughter and her beau Carter's planned coup to warn the CEO. When Brooke pointed out Steffy's mistake in expelling Hope from the company, Ridge repeated the information Steffy had fed him about Hope trying to seduce Finn. Brooke revealed Hope and Carter's office romance, emphasizing that Hope was not interested in Steffy's husband, Finn.
Instead of accepting that Steffy made the hasty decision of firing Hope over this, Ridge jumped to the conclusion that Hope set up Carter for the betrayal. After learning about the romance between Hope and Carter, Ridge Forrester started accusing Hope of influencing Carter. He went so far as to ask Carter to break off the toxic relationship to keep his job.
Why did Carter betray the company?
Carter Walton, the COO of Forrester Creations, came up with expansion plans for the company that the management shot down. He also backed his latest romantic partner, Hope Logan, whose design line, Hope for the Future, was making losses. He suggested that Forrester Creations could take loans to keep Hope's fashion line afloat.
Not only did the Forresters reject his business ideas, but company co-CEO Steffy Forrester also insulted his girlfriend by calling her names. She went on to doubt Carter's business sense. Steffy fired Hope over a personal misunderstanding and refused to budge.
In an attempt to save Hope, Carter Walton devised the unexpected plan of signing his name in the place of the manager on the company's LLC papers entrusted to him. He knew Ridge trusted him and didn't want to backstab a friend. However, Hope reasoned that Carter could run the business better, and they needed to go ahead with the coup for the company's good.
