Gilbert Arenas' son, Alijah Arenas, is a proud brother as his sister, Hamiley Arenas, has been turning heads with her basketball skills since her debut against Campbell last Wednesday.
Playing against Kennedy this Friday, Hamiley Arenas again left fans buzzing and family beaming with pride with her exceptional performance.
Stunned by her brilliant display of skills, Alijah Arenas took to Instagram to convey his admiration. Sharing a story featuring his sister, Alijah kept it short and expressive, posting just one emoji:
"🥶”"—aa clear nod to her dominance on the court.
The clip features Hamiley executing a clean euro layup coupled with precise rebounds and free throws. Her amazing play even caught the attention of her father’s girlfriend, Melli Monaco. Just like Alijah Arenas, she also acknowledged her commendable skillset over an Instagram story, captioning it thus:
“My boo EATIN."
Hamiley Arenas stepped into the spotlight with her standout performance in her first game for Notre Dame High School. She scored 27 points while grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing out six assists.
She was undoubtedly on top of her game; however, Notre Dame High School lost the match 70-75 to Campbell Hall.
Izela Arenas joins sister Hamiley Arenas in making waves on the court
Just when Hamiley was showcasing her skills on the court, another Arenas was also sending waves throughout the basketball world. Izela Arenas, the elder daughter of 3x NBA all-star Gilbert Arenas and Laura Govan, started her college career with the Louisville Cardinals on Nov. 9.
Playing against Southern Indiana, the 5-foot-9 freshman scored seven points, had three rebounds and one assist.
In her next game against Morehead State, the 18-year-old again impressed hoops fans with eight points and three rebounds. Hyped with her daughter's impressive debut at the college level, her mother, Laura Govan, shared snippets from the game on her Instagram with catchy captions.
"Let's go, baby.”
In another video, where Izela was seen dunking her second 3-point, Govan wrote:
"Let's go boom boom.”
Izela was a four-star prospect ranked No. 88 by espnW HoopGurlz. In 2023, she won the Queen of the Court event, establishing herself as a leading basketball player.
Even Mother Govan has openly acknowledged her skills on the court. On YouTuber Carlos King's "Reality with the King" podcast, Govan shared:
"My daughter, now 18, is in Louisville, doing amazing. Oh my God, she got a full scholarship. One of the top 10 players in the country, she's phenomenal, my baby lefty. I got two lefties, by the way. We'll get into the rest, but she is an amazing young woman, amazing.”
Hamiley Arenas and Izela Arenas have made impressive starts at the high school and college levels. Fans will be excited to see how they continue to elevate their game in coming matches.
