Bryce James, son of NBA legend LeBron James, is a key player in the Sierra Canyon High School, Chatsworth, California, basketball team’s roster. Under coach Andre Chevalier’s guidance, Bryce has steadily developed into a promising player.

On Monday, Nov. 25, Chevalier, who has been leading Sierra Canyon's basketball program since 2017, shared an inspiring post to uplift his team's morale.

The post featured several snapshots of him with his players. Bryce James later re-shared the post on his Instagram story, amplifying his coach’s message and showcasing appreciation for his leadership.

The original caption, posted by Coach Chevalier, read:

"Year 8. Time to run the field like Lamar Jackson."

The motivational message, referencing the Baltimore Ravens' star quarterback, was likely aimed at firing up the team as they prepare for another competitive season.

Coach Chevalier has transformed Sierra Canyon High School into a basketball powerhouse, producing notable players like Bronny James, Duane Washington Jr., Ziaire Williams, Amari Bailey, etc. These players went on to make a name for themselves at the college and NBA levels.

He is the only coach in history to win back-to-back California State Open Division championships, in 2018 and 2019, winning the LA Times’ 2018 Coach of the Year along the way.

This season, the Trailblazers are once again asserting their dominance on the court. With back-to-back victories over SGA, Cerritos and MDCHS, they have extended their winning streak to 3-0 this season. Meanwhile, Bryce continues to develop into a valuable asset for his team.

How has Bryce James performed under Coach Chevalier?

Coach Chevalier turned Bronny James, LeBron's elder son, into an exceptional player who eventually earned his spot in the NBA. Now, his younger brother, Bryce James is training under the same person.

The 6-foot-4 youngster plays shooting guard for the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. He moved to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, for a few months in 2023, but transferred back to Sierra Canyon in Nov. 2023.

Bryce made his junior season debut after the transfer a memorable one. He played for 15 minutes and squeezed six points with three assists, two steals and one block. Bryce has managed an average of 6.9 points, 0.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game till now.

The Trailblazers will lock horns with the Orem Tigers on Nov. 26, 2024. Orem claimed victory in their last two games and can pose a tough challenge for Bryce's team. It will be interesting to see which side continues to maintain their winning streak. Coach Chevalier will certainly want it to be the Trailblazers.
