Even in these seemingly casual photos, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice small details that could have easily gone unnoticed. From a plushie keychain on his military bag to a mysterious cake, a Twilight scene, and even his phone cover, fans found layers of symbolism and sentiment in what appeared to be simple images.

BTS' Taehyung becomes active on Instagram shortly after being discharged from the military

On June 10, 2025, BTS' V, aka Taehyung, was officially discharged from the military along with fellow bandmate RM. The following day, on June 11, Taehyung took to Instagram to share many updates. His post was captioned, "Love me tete," referring to his well-known nickname.

The first photo was a mirror selfie that showed his black phone cover decorated with a four-photo collage of Patti Smith. An American singer-songwriter and poet, Patti Smith, now 78, is known for challenging gender norms and defying conventional stereotypes. Fans believe this choice reflects V's admiration and respect for her, suggesting she may be a source of inspiration for him.

The second and fourth photos offered wide-angle shots of the same setting, capturing him in a T-shirt and shorts inside a HYBE practice room. The third and seventh pictures featured him with six of his fellow military cadets.

The fifth image showed a cake decorated with a masked photo of Taehyung in his black military uniform. The words written upon the cake read:

"I'm happy to be with you"

These words sparked curiosity among fans who speculated who might have given it to him, as no further clues were visible.

The sixth photo showed the star from behind, fully dressed in his military uniform with his military bag. What touched fans was a plush blue bear keyring attached to the bag. This plushie, from a brand called Comfort, was reminiscent of a similar pink one gifted to him by photographer Kim Hee-june in 2023.

The eighth and ninth photos showed Taehyung seated in uniform, holding a book titled The Kitchen of 16 Nights by Mao Wu. The book explores themes such as regret, love, and longing, with guests in the story revisiting their pasts as their memories are carried away on floating (Kongming) lanterns. This was found to be deeply meaningful by the fans.

Photos 10, 13, 15, 19, and 20 showed Taehyung in various locations, dressed in his military uniform, portraying the many sides of his service experience.

The 11th photo featured him with actor Song Kang at a military gym, while the 12th showed him posing with a snowman. The 14th image captured a group shot with other cadets in black uniforms, and the 16th photo showed the group standing near a swimming pool in casual military attire like shorts or bathing clothes.

The 17th image was a collage of four photos featuring Taehyung and fellow soldiers proudly holding their SDT (Special Duty Team) medallions.

The 18th was a video clip of Taehyung in a compression T-shirt and military pants at a baseball gaming zone. A particular moment caught fans' attention as he twirled a baseball bat in his hand in a way reminiscent of Jasper from Twilight. Interestingly, fans recalled that he had first done this exact move in In The Soop season 1 back in 2020, adding a nostalgic touch to the post.
