BLACKPINK's Lisa released MONEY as the second single from the album, LALISA, on November 9, 2021. As of May 26, 2024, the track's music video has surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube, making it the fastest MV by a K-pop solo artist to achieve this feat. MONEY became Lisa's second top-ten success and the longest-charting single by a K-pop soloist at the time when it reached its commercial high at number 10 on the Billboard Global 200.

Bekuh Boom, Vince, and 24 collaborated to construct the song's music while R. Tee wrote the lyrics. The dynamic hip-hop song lyrics are a pompous celebration of wealth and materialism. According to Billboard, the track's melody is based around a lazy horn loop, similar to modern American rap.

It became the first K-pop single by a solo artist to surpass one billion Spotify plays in 2023 and was inducted into the Guinness World Record. In addition to appearing in 26 other nations' record charts, the song attained the longest charting position ever for a K-pop female soloist on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.


Lisa becomes the first K-pop soloist to have a song surpass 1 billion mark on both Spotify and YouTube

With over a billion views on YouTube, her song MONEY has cemented her place as one of the most significant K-pop singers. The track became the quickest video by a female K-pop soloist to earn 1 billion views on YouTube in just 975 days after its premiere. Lisa surpassed her bandmate, Jennie, who had previously held the record with her single SOLO.

The BLACKPINK idol, also the founder of her management label LLOUD, became the first and only K-pop soloist to have marked a billion plays on both YouTube and Spotify. As of May 26, 2024, the artist EP LALISA ranked at No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200.

On November 15, 2023, Spotify's social media channels released a unique film honoring Lisa's accomplishment. In it, the Thai rapper was highlighted as one of the four artists in Spotify's brand-new video series Billions Club: The Series, where they earned their silver-plated plaque for surpassing billion streams.

For the chart issue of September 25, 2021, MONEY debuted at No. 44 on the Billboard Global 200 and at No. 24 on the Global Excl. U.S. and rose to No. 19 and 11, respectively. Following BLACKPINK's single How You Like That, the song became the second-longest charting song by any female K-pop artist. It spent 29 weeks on the Global 200 and 34 weeks on the Global (Excl. U.S.).

In September 2021, MONEY peaked at No. 8 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales. The song further moved up to No. 10 on the Global 200 when the performance video was released and increased a 28% streaming count of 66.3 million and 4,400 increased sales in October 2021.


In other news, the Thai-Korean rapper attended the TAG Heuer yacht dinner party in Monaco ahead of the Gran Premio de F1 de Mónaco 2024.
