BTS’ Kim Taehyung received the title of a Special Warrior during military service and will be honored in the Hall of Fame for a year for his achievements. Recently, fans discovered some of the benefits the Slow Dancing singer received as a special warrior in the military and learned the prestige that comes with the title.

According to a Naver blog by the Department of Defense released in 2017, Special Warriors are select soldiers who have showcased their potential in individual combat strength through a series of tests in five subjects. In April 2025, an image of the BTS member went viral among fans, in which the Layover singer was seen wearing a badge that displayed the status of achieving the Special Warrior title.

Notably, as V was a special warrior while serving his military tenure, his photograph is likely to be displayed at his unit's hall of fame. As per the Department of Defense blog, such soldiers are admired by their fellow troop members and are looked upon as the “pride” of the unit.

As this information started to circulate on social media, fans shared their thoughts on BTS’ Kim Taehyung's achievements. They turned to X to highlight his achievements not only in his musical career but also in his milestones as an active-duty soldier.

Many shared similar reactions on the social media platform.

"Plaster him all over the place,he did perfect and served the country well," a fan added.
"I feel so proud when I think about our Taehyung receiving all that training in SDT, excelling in it, and looking good in the process... V is the coolest, I admire him lot," a user stated.
"an idol,an inspiration for his peers wherever he goes," another wrote.

Fans swelled with pride at the BTS vocalist's latest achievement as a Special Warrior.

"I’m so proud of Kim Taehyung. He’s not only successful as an idol but also thriving in the military. His strong determination and high level of discipline have led him to success," a netizen commented.
"He makes his own name wherever he goes. I’m beyond proud being his fan and also proud of myself for my taste and standard in artists & idols," another netizen commented.

BTS’ V addresses the press along with RM following military discharge

BTS vocalist V, aka Kim Taehyung, was officially discharged from his military duties as a police officer under the 2nd Army Corps on June 10, 2025. He was joined by his bandmate RM in Chuncheon to greet the media for the first time after their conscription.

According to the BBC, V expressed his eagerness to meet his fans while also going through a body transformation during his time in the military. He said:

“There are still many officers and warriors in our unit who took good care of me. I hope you train safely without getting hurt and are discharged safely. I'm grateful to the officers and warriors for taking such good care of me, and I will work hard to become a good, truly cool person when I go out into society.”

Besides being a Special Warrior, BTS’s Kim Taehyung received the Military Police Exemplary Award for his impressive performance during the winter training. He was recognized as a top-ranking Full-Arm Marksman Special Shooter.
