On June 10, 2025, BTS members RM and V delighted fans by appearing on Weverse Live. It was their first time since completing their mandatory military service. After their official discharge ceremony at Chuncheon Sports Park, both members returned to HYBE’s building and went live from a room decorated with balloons and cakes.

The brief session marked a special moment for ARMYs (fandom name), many of whom had been eagerly waiting nearly 18 months to see both idols back on screen. However, the excitement was quickly overshadowed for many fans when technical problems on the Weverse platform disrupted the experience.

Several users took to X (formerly Twitter) to vent their frustration over delayed notifications and the complete lack of real-time translations during the live broadcast. Fans pointed out that the app failed to send out notifications on time. Some received alerts minutes late, while others got none at all.

The issue was particularly disappointing because these first post-discharge livestreams have become a cherished ritual after each BTS member’s military return. This was seen previously with Jin and j-hope.

Many fans voiced concern that similar glitches could ruin the highly anticipated full group livestream expected after SUGA’s upcoming discharge on June 21.

Although a full OT7 live is not yet confirmed, the possibility has created even more pressure for the app to resolve its platform issues.

"Weverse didn't send me a notification for taejoon's live and then had the audacity to give me an ad before the live," a fan commented.
"70 percent of the fandom saying they didn't get the notification @weversofficial it's not all about updating the app every month. Do BEST with the notifications," an X user mentioned.

"She showed up 15 minutes late to a 30 minute live girl this is not a good start to the festivities. The FESTAvities if you will," a fan remarked.
"I’ve only just the weverse notification now!! this cannot be happening for the first ot7 live," another one said.

Some revealed that they only found out about the live through fan accounts on X.

More on BTS' discharge, the Weverse live, and what comes next

Another major source of frustration was the absence of subtitles or real-time translations during RM and V’s live. Fans were disappointed, as many international fans pay for premium memberships, and the lack of translations during such a long-awaited live came across as a significant oversight.

During the live, the pair greeted fans warmly. They thanked the ARMY for waiting during their 18-month service and shared brief reflections about their military experience. V mentioned how he had grown both mentally and physically during enlistment.

Meanwhile, RM expressed gratitude and acknowledged his saxophone performance during the discharge ceremony earlier that morning. Though the live was short, it was an emotional moment for fans worldwide who had been eagerly anticipating their return.

Meanwhile, RM and V’s discharge drew massive attention from both South Korean and global media. RM, who served in the military band as a private, greeted fans with a saxophone performance, while V, who served in the elite Special Duty Team (SDT), appeared cheerful during the ceremony.

Both members expressed deep gratitude to fans and fellow soldiers, sharing their reflections and excitement about returning to their artistic careers.

BTS' 12th anniversary FESTA celebrations are scheduled to begin this week. Fans hope that the platform will take urgent action to ensure upcoming lives run smoothly, especially if a long-awaited full-group appearance is indeed on the way after SUGA’s discharge on June 21.
