What is the film all about?
The sci-fi drama film depicts the three important phases of the life of an ordinary man called Charles "Chuck" Krantz in reverse chronological order. The film begins with the world on the verge of ending, and at the centre of it are teacher Marty and his ex, Felicia. As they embrace each other while the world starts to fall apart, the scene switches to Chuck's life instead.
The film then introduces the audience to Chuck, a married accountant with kids, living his life to the fullest. The film then chronicles his life in reverse order while also highlighting his passion for music and dance. Soon, Chuck's deteriorating health is also highlighted as he suffers from severe headaches and pain.
The audience also gets to see his other special moments in life before the sci-fi part of it arrives in the plot. Chuck's grandfather, Albie, had bolted shut a room at the top of the stairs. Whoever enters the room will learn everything about their life, including the way they will die. Chuck eventually finds out that he passes away at the age of 39 due to cancer.
