Yesterday, 4Batz took to social media to announce the release of his debut mixtape titled U MADE ME A ST4R, which is set to hit all major (Digital Streaming Platforms) in two weeks on May 3, 2024.

He made the announcement by posting the official album cover on his social media accounts, which found Batz posing with a picture of a woman with a large red "X" marked across it. The caption on his post read:

"May 3rd of last year u left me, May 3rd of this year u made me a st4r."

The mixtape will be distributed to all DSPs via Drake's record label, OVO, which signed the Batz in March. This signing came on the heels of the duo's collaboration on song act ii: date @ 8 - remix, which was uploaded to streaming platforms on March 8, 2024.

Everything we know about 4Batz's upcoming debut mixtape U MADE ME A ST4R

4Batz's announcement for U MADE ME A ST4R was initially made during a performance on From the Block, a YouTube show on the channel '4 Shooters Only', which is well known for rappers live-performing their songs in unique settings.

4 Shooters Only and 4Batz's previous collaborations are one of the major reasons for his sudden rise in fame, with his most recent performance being for the record act iii: on god? (she like). Before Batz and his crew begin vibing along to the song, a message appears on the screen which reads:

"U Made Me A St4r * 4.5.24”

As April 4 has come and gone, the latest post confirms that U MADE ME A ST4R will be available for streaming almost a month after its initial announcement.

Although not much information has been shared about the tracklist and what themes Batz will dive into with his debut project, the three singles released since June last year give us an insight into the kind of music the Houston rapper has been curating for his fanbase.

On June 27, 2023, Batz released his debut single, act i: 99 stickers, which is a soft and transient record that slowly builds up to a bassy trap production, creating a unique listening experience.

The track began to gain traction on TikTok, before the rapper hopped on From The Block for his first-ever performance of the song, garnering the artist over 30 million streams on Spotify.

A few months later, on December 15, 2023, Batz would release the biggest song of his career to date with act ii: date @ 8, which went viral on all social media, racking up millions of plays, along with drawing attention from some of the biggest stars in the rap game like Kanye West and Drake.

According to a report from HipHopDX, Ye stated how 4Batz was his favorite "new artist," during an interview.

4Batz's "act ii" currently has over 123 million streams on Spotify, standing alongside his remix with Drake which has pulled in close to 54 million plays on the streaming giant. His most recent release is his live recorded freestyle, from the On The Radar radio show, titled put yo gun 2 use which was uploaded on April 1, 2024.

Although 4Batz is currently signed to OVO, a report from Billboard Magazine states that the record deal is only for one EP. This implies that once his project is delivered, Batz is not contractually obligated to stay with Drake's label and can sign with one of the many major labels that were supposedly pursuing him before Drizzy snatched him up.

It does appear that both Drake and 4Batz have a friendly relationship, as the duo were seen linking up in person, back in February, during one of Drizzy's performances during his It's All a Blur: Big as the What? tour.
