A.B. Quintanilla was scheduled to perform at the Memorial Weekend Bash in Riverside Park in Victoria, Texas from May 24, 2024, to May 27, 2024. The festival celebrates Memorial Day (the last Monday of May), which memorializes the people who died in the service of the US military with Tejano music.

A.B. Quintanilla was however pulled from the festival by its organizers, with Frank Salazar of Salazar Promotions announcing the cancellation of the performance via a video post on Facebook, stating:

"I regret to announce that A.B. Quintanilla y Los Kumbia All Starz will not be performing this weekend due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

The rapper subsequently reacted to the cancellation of his performance via an Instagram post on May 24, 2024, stating:

"As For my friends in Victoria and @salazarpromotions I was shocked to find out on the internet I would not be performing for unforeseen circumstances…The question I have is what is an unforeseen circumstance out of control???."

The rapper continued:

"Is Victoria expecting a tornado, Hurricane, earthquake, flooding or hailstorm??? Whatever the case my band and I were ready to perform…Wishing everyone a great Memorial Day weekend."

It is unclear as to what exactly was the unforeseen situation that led to the festival canceling Quintanilla's performance, as the video announcement does not provide any further details.

A.B. Quintanilla has been mired in incidents

The cancellation of the performance at the Memorial Weekend Bash in Texas is another most recent incident surrounding the rapper. The rapper recently ranted at a crowd on April 27, 2024, at the 2024 Tejano Explosion, taking them to town for what he perceived was their lack of energy and enthusiasm.

“Like somebody put a gun to your head, and forced you to be here tonight, you know what I’m saying? And that feels horrible, as a musician, to work so f****ng hard over all these years to bring you hits and you guys come here, and you can’t even f---ing raise your hands to f---ing clap or be happy, man.You know, that feels sad for us."

The singer had then apologized via a now-deleted Instagram post, chalking up his rant to his health condition, having recently been asked by his doctor to get checked for cancer.
