On Tuesday, June 10, podcaster Mal took to X and reacted to what seemed to be Drake's rumored new solo album, Iceman. While Drizzy has neither confirmed the name or the release date of the project, fans have been speculating that the album would be named Iceman. In the tweet by Mal, he wrote:
"Iceman got a BOMB. 💰💰💰"
The tweet garnered massive attention online with more than 710K people viewing the tweet and over 6,700 ones liking it. Besides, many prominent pages like NFR Podcast also shared the tweet.
Netizens flooded the platform with their reactions to Mal's review about the apparent upcoming project of Drizzy. An X user claimed that Mal had said something similar when the Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar were feuding last year. The user (@rushgotjokes) wrote:
"He said same thing during the battle 😂."
Another user tweeted:
"We heard that b4."
"Bomb with a lawsuit lol 😂 Foh lol 😂," added a tweet.
"He also said Drake had a nuke for kendrick," wrote another netizen.
A lot of others pointed out that podcasters and streamers like Mal and Adin Ross hyped the alleged album so much that they did not let Drizzy surprise his fans with his music. One user wrote:
"New lame n*ggaz hyping sh*t talking stupidity 'a bomb'!!!!"
"Bro these ovh*es close him (Mal, Adin, AkaDiddy) just can't let that man surprise his fans. Always hyping this n*gga music only to drop some mid, coz they got his fan expectations so high... 😂," added a tweet.
Drake had recently announced OVO Fest to be held this year
On May 24, Drake took to social media from his other account @plottttwisttttt, and announced that he was aiming at organizing OVO Fest this year. The caption of the post read:
"🦉 OVO FEST IS BACK 2025🦉."
The tweet came with a video of Drake at Central Cee's concert in Toronto on May 24. In the clip, Drizzy surprised fans by appearing at the show and then addressed the crowd. According to reports by iHeart, in his address, Drizzy spoke about the OVO Fest after performing his popular track Nokia:
"I'll see you this summer by the way. OVO Fest will be back this year."
While he had suggested that OVO Fest would be held this year, no additional details about the same have been made available as of now.
This news surfaced amid the rapper's claim that he had been working on his solo project, that fans have been calling Iceman. If this album is released, it would be the rapper's first solo album since his beef with Kendrick Lamar last year.
Drake launched OVO Fest for the first time back in 2010. Since then, the event used to take place ever year in the summer till 2019. It was postponed for a few years, primarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, the rapper organized it again under the name "October World Weekend."
This event included performances from several artists like Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Baby, to name a few.
Fans are awaiting to receive more details both about the Fest and the upcoming project.
