Macklemore's residence on Seattle's Capitol Hill was burglarized on June 7, 2025. According to The Seattle Times' June 9, 2025, report, two masked intruders entered the home at night while the rapper's three kids were sleeping, and only their nanny was present. One intruder sprayed bear spray on the nanny and asked where the valuables were.
"Where are the jewels, b***h?" they reportedly asked.
Macklemore and his wife, Tricia Davis, have three kids: daughters Sloane and Colette and son Hugo. According to the police report obtained by the media outlet, the masked men tried to shut up the nanny; she claimed they pinned her down to the ground and put a boot on her ankle and neck.
The police report stated that when the men tried to hold her against a wall, she bit the man and escaped the house. Then she went door to door in the Capitol Hill neighborhood until a neighbor let her in, and she called 911.

"[The nanny] began to scream, so they got her up and pinned her against a wall, the shorter one holding her mouth shut. At this point, [the nanny] tried to kick the shorter one in the groin, but was unable to, so she bit onto his hand hard, causing him to let go. [She] then fled through the bathroom and out of the house," the report stated.
The nanny called the authorities before 1 am. By the time police arrived, the intruders had left the residence with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, watches, and shoes. According to TMZ's June 10, 2025, report, the two men were caught on camera as they fled.
Macklemore's kids' nanny said she believed the intrusion was reportedly "politically motivated"
The Seattle Police Department stated in their report that the nanny believed that the home invasion was allegedly "politically motivated."
"She escaped, but three children were still inside the house. [The caller] also added that the house belonged to a high-profile individual... and that she believed the crime may have been politically motivated for some reason," the report stated.
For the unversed, Macklemore has openly supported the liberation of Palestine. On May 8, 2025, he released a statement on his Instagram, supporting Kehlani, whose multiple gigs were canceled due to her political views and those of other artists who have shown support for Palestine.
The rapper stated that artists had no intention of being a "hero" or "savior." He said people with "compassion, love, and empathy" refuse to stay silent.
"I'm riding with Kehlani and anyone else that has a backbone. Artists and humans that regardless of the consequences, prioritize collective liberation over self preservation, and use their platform to reach hearts. Not on some hero sh*t. Not on some savior sh*t. But simply as people with compassion, love and empathy watching a genocide and refusing to be silent," the rapper said.
Macklemore is currently in Ireland for his tour. The rapper has not released a statement regarding the burglary at the time of writing.
