American rapper Pusha T recently shared his perspective on why artists want to work with Kanye West despite him being involved in several controversies. During an interview with Complex that was published on Friday, April 26, 2024, the rapper said:

"Ye definitely knows what I like to make, and I only want to be a part of things that I want to do."

Pusha T said that despite being a controversial figure, working with Ye has proven beneficial for several rappers.

In the same interview, rapper Pusha T mentioned how working with Ye provides artists the visibility they need, which is crucial.

"I believe that there’s a level of visibility that comes along with being next to somebody like Ye," he said.

He added:

"At the end of the day, it’s a level of musicality and genius-level production that comes along with being next to him. So you get a lot of things that I think artists are looking for these days in being next to him."

The 46-year-old rapper revealed that he believes that there's an amazing range of music and production that comes with working alongside Kanye West. The rapper continued:

"It’s all about the music for me and just making music at a certain level. I’ve been in this game a long time, so it’s about a certain type of hip-hop that I want to make."

Pusha T mentioned that West is aware of the type of songs he makes and wants to make. West and Pusha T have made several songs together like Diet Coke, Runaway, Mercy, and So Appalled.

In the same interview, the rapper was also asked about his upcoming projects. Pusha T revealed that new music is definitely coming up either as a single by him or from The Clipse. The band consists of him and his brother No Malice.

The duo reportedly were not on good terms when Pusha T parted ways with Ye after leaving G.O.O.D Music in 2022. However, Kanye West spoke about the situation in a recent interview with The Download podcast. West revealed they were now on cordial terms after the "love-hate relationship" that they had shared.

West also added that he had recently spoken to the rapper and that it felt good speaking to him after such a long time. West suggested that he expected Pusha T to support him when he went through his divorce with Kim Kardashian. In the podcast, Ye said:

"I thought that somehow because I made beats and made music for somebody that when I couldn’t see my children, these people would use their platform. ‘Cause I used my platform on their behalf."

Later, however, he also said he believes nobody "owes him anything."
