Taylor Swift and Blake Lively's friendship started in 2015 when Blake revealed that she was a massive Taylor Swift fan or 'Swiftie.' Blake had referenced Taylor in a now-deleted Instagram post.

As Entertainment Tonight reported in September 2015, Blake had shared a photo from L'Oréal's campaign featuring herself and a few other celebs like John Legend, Julianne Moore, and Naomi Watts.

Blake captioned the post:

"Soooo, turns out this WASN'T a video shoot for John Legend's cover of Bad Blood."

However, the actress had to explain herself later because some fans thought that she was dissing the singer. In response, Blake posted another image where her husband Ryan Reynolds’s family was present backstage with Taylor during 'The 1989 World Tour.'

"Umm whoever thought I was throwin' shade clearly doesn't know I have a 'Taylor Swift Please Be My Wife Voo Doo Doll," Blake clarified via her Instagram post.

The actress added:

"Love my Canadian family almost as much as I love Taylor Lively. I mean Swift. Ok, FIIINE we can hyphenate our last names. Xo Blake Swift-Lively 4eva."

People magazine reported that the duo met in Australia some weeks later, and the rest is history.
