Spider Nation is an LLC and musical collective, popular for the work of its founding artists who claim to "bring their own sound to the music industry" as per the rapper's YouTube channel description.

According to the Baton Rouge rapper's Apple Music profile, he is a "self-styled poetic activist" who claims to have been the first in his city to use auto-tune.

He was signed to No Limit Forever Records, a label started by Rock It fame Master P's son Romeo Miller.

While Tec released a mixtape with the record label founded in 2010, he left because of creative differences and legal issues.

The rapper's recent arrest is not his first run-in with the law, given that he served a three-year prison sentence.

During an interview with AllHipHop in 2019, the rapper shared that he first went to jail at the age of 18 and that he was signed to No Limit Forever before his arrest.

The rapper also mentioned that he was charged with armed robbery and first-degree murder.

"But the murder got dropped, and I didn’t do that s*it. But the armed robbery, I had to do time on that s*it. They dropped it, and I ended up getting 3 years," the Baton Rouge native said.

Tec also mentioned that his stint with No Limit was short-lived due to his imprisonment, adding that his momentum with the record label stopped after his release.

"When I came home from jail, I was trying to build that s*it back up when I got back out. But I was like “f*ck it I got to start from scratch, so I might as well do my own s*it.” In the No Limit thing, P wanted me to work as a group with other artists. I just wanted to be solo, so I fell back from the s*it," Dalvin shared.

Feud with Young Thug and details about Tec explored amid news of his arrest

Not much is known about Tec's journey in the industry after his release from prison, except that he released a joint mixtape called Spider Nation alongside his label's partner, Maine Musik, in 2017.

Additionally, the rapper released three new projects in 2020 called 8 Legged Explosive, Web Live Vol. 3, and Web Swings.

Tec also made headlines in 2019 by feuding with fellow rapper Young Thug, claiming that Thug and Gunna had stolen his Spider brand.

The rapper was referring to Thug's SP5DER clothing brand during his social media rant and claimed that Young Thug also released a mixtape, Big Spider.

Further, the Baton Rouge native alleged that the YSL founder has reached out to him and pitched a collaboration.

Expressing his discontent over Thug's response, Tec said:

“We made this a household name for people to be [saying] ‘Oh, that’s my Spider. I’m a Spider.' We made this a household name without y’all. Years and years we done put into this sh*t. Now all of a sudden, y’all saying this and want to collab after you try to steal it without asking permission? Nah, we good. We straight.”

Additionally, during a December 2021 interview with Passion of the Weiss, Tec talked about how difficult it was to handle fame, stating that he was waiting to reach J Cole or Kendrick Lamar's level.

Expressing frustration over having to promote his work over social media, the rapper said:

"‘Cause if it was up to me, I probably wouldn’t fuck with Instagram or none of that shit ‘cause life too real. Shit too real. Real men gotta move different, gotta move militant and s*it. I don’t be posting where I’m gonna be and posting this and that type of shit. I be wanting to do big s*it and be on that type of level with them ni**as like J. Cole."
