"A view with a view": Connor McDavid's wife Lauren tunes in to Oilers-Panthers SCF Game 2 with Mikayla Nurse and Celeste Desjardins from Greece

While Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers battle in the Stanley Cup Final, McDavid’s wife, Lauren Kyle, made sure not to miss the action, even from halfway across the world.

On Friday, Lauren posted a couple of stories on her Instagram showing that she and Darnell Nurse’s wife, Mikayla, and Leon Draisaitl’s fiancee, Celeste Desjardins, were watching Game 2 of the Final while in Greece for Celeste’s bachelorette trip.

One of the stories showed Mikayla relaxing with a drink as Lauren’s laptop streamed the game between the Oilers and Florida Panthers. Lauren tagged Celeste and Mikayla in the story.

The second image featured a picturesque nighttime view of city lights in Greece, with a phone propped up nearby playing hockey coverage and a glass of wine close at hand. In the caption, Lauren wrote:

The Oilers fell 5-4 to the Florida Panthers on the night in double overtime, despite a late goal by Corey Perry that forced extra time. Brad Marchand scored the winning goal to tie the series and Game 3 moves to Florida.

Connor McDavid’s wife, Lauren, launched her fashion brand, Sports Club Atelier, in December last year. This year, she teamed up with the Oilers to release “The Foundry Collection” just in time for the NHL playoffs.

While reflecting on her inspiration, Kyle spoke with ELLE Canada about the playoff atmosphere in Edmonton. She also mentioned that the live experience of a playoff hockey game means a lot to Canadian fans.

“The energy is just unreal. Everyone’s on edge, the fans are fully dialed in and you can feel how much it means to people,” she said.

She explained that her brand started from a desire to create stylish and thoughtful clothing options for fans. Since launching Sports Club Atelier, Lauren claimed that her own game-day fashion has changed.

“I love being part of that. It’s emotional, exciting and a little chaotic in the best way. For me, it’s not just about the game—it’s about the vibe, the atmosphere, the outfits and the rituals.”

Lauren mentioned that now she focuses on wearing outfits that feel cool, confident and true to her style. She said the goal is to mix her love for fashion with her passion for hockey.
