Stuart Skinner started Game 4 but was pulled after giving up three goals on 17 shots. Calvin Pickard subsequently replaced him and made 22 saves on 23 shots. Furthermore, the Oilers came back from a 3-0 deficit to win 5-4 in overtime to tie the series 2-2.

BarDown shared a post on X/Twitter asking:

"Who should the Oilers start in Game 5?"

NHL fans soon shared their thoughts on the question:

"Either Pickard or call someone in from a local beer league. As long as it isn't Skinner," a fan said.

"Yes. Skinner gets mentally fatigued and benefits from breaks/ resets. You can’t play him like he’s Grant Fuhr. Pickard has been excellent and has yet to lose a game this playoffs," another fan wrote.

"Well you go Pickard now. Just how the cookie crumbles," one fan commented.

Here are some more reactions from fans on X:

"Pickard is starting Game 5 unless Knoblauch wants to lose this series," a fan wrote.
"Picard the fu*k?! I hope Edmonton leant their lesson. DO NOT PLAY SKINNER!!!!!!," one fan said.
"Skinner. Didn’t love decision to pull him in the first place and Pickard is easily as unreliable at times," another fan added.

"Both goalies have been really good and key for us, to getting here...As a coach, we make that switch and 'Picks' comes in and makes some huge, huge saves. It's nice we've got a nice tandem, that they're going back and forth, and each one has been really solid for us," he added.

Stuart Skinner has a 2.99 goals-against average and three shutouts in this postseason. On the other hand, Pickard is 7-0 in the playoffs with a lower GAA in nine games.

Who do you think should start in goal for the Edmonton Oilers in Game 5 between Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
