Oilers' flag hoisted at Vancouver City Hall following Round 2 win

The mayors of Edmonton and Vancouver made a friendly wager before the Oilers and Canucks met in the second round of the NHL playoffs. Whoever's team lost would have to raise the winning team's flag at their city hall and wear the winning team’s jersey.

Edmonton won the Round 2 in seven games, meaning Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim had to pay up. Video emerged showing the orange and blue flag of Edmonton hoisted at Vancouver City Hall.

Mayor Sim also posted a photo of himself wearing an Edmonton jersey while congratulating the team on advancing. Edmonton Mayor Amarjeet Sohi responded lightheartedly on X, thanking Sim for being such a good sport about the wager:

"Orange and blue looks good on you."

Sohi concluded by saying he looks forward to a rematch next season in the playoffs.
