“I’m excited about the opportunity... but for whatever reason, our group doesn’t like to make it easy on ourselves. We’ve put ourselves in another difficult spot and it’s our job to work our way out of it. I would expect that tomorrow."

McDavid netted his first goal of the Stanley Cup Final series in Game 5. When asked about bouncing back personally in Game 6, McDavid deflected and put the focus back on the team, saying:

“Well it’s not really about me, it’s about us, it’s about us trying to get a win here and tomorrow night. That’s what we’re looking forward to. I think everybody has another level, myself included.”

McDavid has been dominant throughout the playoffs, leading all scorers with 26 assists and 33 points over 21 games.

Oilers HC Kris Knoblauch on "penalties" issue against Panthers

Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch addressed the team's struggles with penalties against the Panthers and the impact it has had on their performance.

The Oilers have failed to score a single goal in the first period of their last three games, getting outscored 7-0 during that stretch.

"Three of those four games, penalties, last game wasn't an issue, but a lot of that out scoring is from their power play. " Knoblauch said. (0:13)
"So, I think it's important for us one not give them opportunities on the power play. But also just taking away out flow and our attach if we are in the box and I think that's the most important thing."

On the team's Game 5 performance, Knoblauch said that they started off well, but a mistake that led to the first goal set them back. He felt they were prepared to play and liked how they came out to begin the game.
