Johnny Gaudreau’s mother, Jane, reacted warmly to a fan’s thoughtful tribute. The fan, @emma12_grace, shared plans to give out bracelets at the Calgary Flames game against the Blue Jackets.

The tribute comes after the tragic deaths of Johnny Gaudreau, 31, and his brother Matthew, 29, in a bike crash on Aug. 29 in New Jersey. The brothers were biking when a suspected drunk driver hit them.

The driver, Sean M. Higgins, has been charged with two counts of death by auto. The Gaudreau brothers were in their hometown to serve as groomsmen for their sister’s wedding the next day. Their sudden loss has deeply affected their family and the hockey community.

The bracelets are meant to honor the Gaudreau family. Emma tweeted:

"I will be handing out bracelets at the @NHLFlames game against the @BlueJacketsNHL on Tuesday honouring the Gaudreau’s. If you will be there and would like one please let me know. #Flames #CBJ" the fan tweeted on X.

Jane responded:

"Aww…that is so sweet! I would love one!🔥❤️," showing her appreciation for the kind gesture.

Johnny was a talented NHL player who played for the Flames and the Blue Jackets.

Off the ice, he was a dedicated husband to Meredith and father to two young children, Noa and Johnny Jr. Meredith later revealed that she was expecting their third child, which she shared at his memorial service. Matthew Gaudreau also played hockey and was admired by many.

Johnny was a fan favorite during his nine years playing for the Flames. The Flames had drafted Johnny in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Draft. Emma’s thoughtful act shows how much Johny and his brother meant to the hockey world.
