On the ice, the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Sharks 4-3 in the shootout. The Flyers jumped out to a 3-0 lead 5 minutes into the second period. However, the Sharks clawed their way back, tying the game on a goal by Goodrow, of all players.

Goodrow’s second of the season at 17:36 of the third sent the game into overtime. However, overtime settled nothing. So, the game went to the shootout. In the shootout, Matvei Michkov and Travis Konecny scored to give the Flyers the two points. Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith failed to convert on their opportunities.

During regulation, Michkov and Konecny scored for the Flyers. Michkov ended the game with two points (1G, 1A). MIchkov’s performance earned him the game’s first star. Konecny got the second star, with the Sharks’ Mikael Granlund getting the third star as he finished with two points (1G, 1A), as well.

As for Seeler, he finished the game with just under 19 minutes of ice time, registering three shots on goal. He was a minus-2 on the game in 29 total shifts. Plus, he added five penalty minutes thanks to his altercation with Goodrow.

With the win, the Flyers are tied with the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second-last spot in the Metro Division, one point behind the New York Islanders for fifth place.

The Flyers will take on the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night, looking to continue building momentum as the club tries to escape the cellar for good.
