German track athlete Alica Schmidt shared glimpses of her intense training sessions. This comes just a few days after her first outdoor race of the season at the Goldenes Oval 2025, where she ran the 800m.
Schmidt finished ninth in the race that took place in Dresden after clocking a time of 2:06.33. With this defeat, Schmidt continued her hot and cold 2025 season that hasn't seen her win any individual races so far, except for her heat of the German Indoors. Swiss athlete Lore Hoffmann was the winner of the 800m race at Goldenes Oval with a time of 2:00.11.
Following this result, Schmidt toiled it out during a practice session on the track. Her recent glimpses from her sessions on her Instagram stories showed her in immense pain after intense training. She wrote in her first story:
"Today was brutal"

"25 lactate hitting/hurting bad," she remarked in her second story.

Besides her training sessions and meets, Alica Schmidt has also been occupied with her external endeavors, including going to major events and other publication photoshoots.
Alica Schmidt shared her thoughts on her training and practice in the 2025 season

Alica Schmidt shed light on the difference in her training in the 2025 season compared to her previous seasons on the circuit. This came during her YouTube vlogs posted last month.
During the vlog, Schmidt shared that the training had been quite different due to the change to 800m from 400m. Additionally, Schmidt also mentioned that she wanted to change a bit in trainingand give herself a new challenge. She said (via her YouTube, 7:31 onwards):
"I am going to the altitude training camp again in two days and that's where the final preparation will take place. This year I've trained a little bit very differently than I did in previous years, of course, simply due to the change of discipline. I also just really wanted to try something new because I've been training in a very similar way over the last few years and just wanted to see if I could maybe get more out of it."
Speaking during the vlog, Schmidt also mentioned that she was looking to compete in the meets this season without any added pressure.
