Alica Schmidt speaks up about her initial interest in athletics

Alica Schmidt opened up about her growing interest in athletics during her initial years. Last year, Schmidt said she had tried several things, such as judo and dancing, but she eventually realized that her strength was in running.
Additionally, she mentioned that after years passed, her strength towards the sport became more prominent. She said (via OMR podcast, 3:10 onwards):
"I have to say I tried everything, I danced, I did judo and athletics too and then it became pretty clear quickly that I have a pretty strong strength in athletics, especially in running and then over the years it crystalized and then I specialized in it."
Schmidt's latest competition in Dresden didn't go quite well as she finished ninth in the 800m race with a run time of 2:06.33.
