“Do the right thing” - Nebraska Volleyball's Rebekah Allick shares statement after attending the signing of "Stand with Women Act"

Nebraska Volleyball's Rebekah Allick recently shared her thoughts after attending the signing of the 'Stand With Women Act'. The middle blocker, along with political activist Riley Gaines and other significant individuals, was present in the Nebraska office when the Bill was approved by Governor Jim Pillen and Senator Kathleen Kauth.

Rebekah Allick is a senior middle blocker in the Nebraska Volleyball team and has earned numerous accolades throughout her collegiate career. She played in both the 2025 spring matches. She posted 11 kills and four blocks against the Kansas Jayhawks and eight kills and nine blocks against South Dakota State. The team dominantly won both spring matches in straight sets.

Through her Instagram post, the AVCA First Serve Showcase MVP of 2024, Allick, expressed her thoughts, thanking Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen and Senator Kathleen Kauth for approving the 'Stand With Women Act', which mentions that all student-athletes who want to participate in sports must play for the teams corresponding to their gender at birth. Allick wrote,

"Do the next right thing. That’s all the Lord ask us to do. You won’t change your life, the world, or anything in one day. Giving the Lord your little yes whenever it is asked of you will lead you to places and people unimaginable."

She continued,

"Let us live a life of love and sacrifice! Thank you Governor Jim Pillen and Senator Kathleen Kauth for giving your yes to the great state of NE, to the people of NE, and most important- to the will of God. LETS FREAKEN GOOO."

In 2024, Rebekah Allick was named the AVCA First Serve Showcase Best Middle Blocker. She has also been named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team three times, and twice to the AVCA All-Region Team, and All-Big Ten Second Team.

In 2023, she was awarded the Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award and was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2022.


Rebekah Allick reflects on the Nebraska Volleyball team undergoing coaching changes

During her appearance on the Huskers Radio Network Podcast with Jessica Coody on May 15, 2025, the elite middle blocker of the Nebraska Volleyball team, Rebekah Allick, disclosed her thoughts on seeing coaching changes in the team. She said:

"I do not handle that kind of change very well. I really wanted to win one with him because he's a legend in the game. He's been around forever and I just felt like a missed opportunity last year and the year before. It was so quick to when he also shared when Dani [Busboom Kelly] was coming and it was just a lot to try." [1:22 onwards]

In January 2025, AVCA Hall of Famer John Cook retired after 25 years from the Nebraska Volleyball program, with Dani Busboom Kelly becoming the next head coach. She is a four-time AVCA East Region Coach of the Year and three-time ACC Coach of the Year winner.
