Lindsey Vonn channels Roger Federer’s mindset in powerful message during training grind

Lindsey Vonn recently channeled tennis legend Roger Federer's mindset as she shared glimpses of her workout session. The American alpine ski racer has already started her preparations for her next season, and the second one after coming back from retirement.

Besides her skiing career, Vonn has been a strong supporter of tennis and also shares an amicable relationship with former ATP No. 1, Federer. The three-time Olympic medal-winning skier had also spoken about how the Swiss tennis player inspired her throughout his career.

Owing to this immense respect, Vonn's recent Instagram post featuring her gym and recovery sessions, found a space for a Federer quote in her caption. Lindsey Vonn said one must master working through tough moments, as she remarked:

"Grinding in the pain cave and making progress These are the hard, lonely hours that make the difference 💪🏻"

She wrote further:

“…become a master of overcoming hard moments” @rogerfederer."

Notably, Roger Federer used this quote during his commencement address to the students at Dartmouth last year. True to his quote, the Swiss maestro also walked the path battling injuries and still succeeded in winning 20 Grand Slam singles titles.

On the other hand, Vonn, during her leisure time after the comeback season, was seen having a good time with a tennis racket in her hand. Her comeback season concluded successfully with a second-place finish at the World Cup finals in Sun Valley back in March.

Lindsey Vonn makes her feelings known on joining the Athena Capital board

Lindsey Vonn expressed her thoughts on being a part of Athena Capital and its advisory board. A New York-based brand established in 2020, Athena Capital is an investment company.

Speaking in an interview, Vonn expressed her excitement at being a part of the board and said that she will try her best to do this job efficiently. Additionally, she also explained the similarities in jobs between competitive skiers and venture capitalists. She stated (via Fast Company):

"Athena’s mission is something that deeply resonates with me, so I was excited to get on board. When I commit to something, I do everything in my power to approach it to the absolute best of my ability.

"Competitive skiing is all about operating under pressure and being precise with your every move. It requires extensive knowledge and training to be successful in the sport. That’s very similar to what venture capitalists do."

During the conversation, Vonn also remarked that being a successful investor and venture capitalist requires a sharp and astute mind, similar to that of a ski racer.
