The Huskers wrapped up their spring matches with dominant wins in both outings, where Harper tallied a total of 22 kills. The team will soon start preparing for their 2025 season under new coach Dani Busboom Kelly. The season will begin with the annual Red-White Scrimmage on August 9 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

When Harper Murray opened up about her sister’s influence

Like Harper, Kendall Murray also played as an outside hitter. In an interview with Jessica Coody (2023), Harper credited Kendall for introducing her to volleyball. She recalled their backyard games and watching Kendall’s matches as a child, even getting scolded by referees for playing near the sidelines:

“She was the one that got me into volleyball. We used to have a sand court in our backyard at home. We would go and play all the time, so I would say she got me into the sport. I remember being like that little girl on the sidelines at convention centers that would get yelled at by the referees to stop playing because I'd be watching her games,” Harper Murray said (3:56 onwards via University of Nebraska Radio Network).

Both sisters wear the No. 27 jersey in honor of their late father, Vada Murray, who played for Michigan. He passed away when Harper was six, after battling lung cancer for three years.
