90 Day Fiancé season 11 episode 17, titled Too Late for Love, premiered on TLC on June 8, 2025. With the 90-day term coming to an end, the episode featured some of the couples going through with their respective wedding ceremonies.
Shawn and Alliya exchanged their vows and got married. However, the ceremony didn't turn out the way either of them had expected.
Shawn was mad about Alliya getting an hour and 45 minutes late to their wedding, and making their guest and his mother wait. It ruined his mood, and it carried on when they were taking the vows and at the dining table later on.
When Shawn’s friend Stacy asked him to give a toast, he agreed—but delivered it in a sarcastic and irritated tone. Refusing to stand, he thanked everyone for coming, then turned to Alliya and mockingly added a special thanks to her for finally showing up to their wedding, even giving out a remark to underline his sarcasm.
"Ohh. Well, thanks everybody for coming. And I'm not standing up. I don't wanna do the big speech. So thank you for all for being here. You're all important to me for many reasons. And so thanks for coming. Alliya, hey, thanks for coming too... finally coming. I mean, you got around to it," he said in his toast.
90 Day Fiancé couple Shawn and Alliya got married without much excitement
In 90 Day Fiancé season 11, episode 17, after growing frustrated with Alliya for making him and the guest wait, Shawn left the altar in search of her to confront her.
When Shawn arrived at Alliya's dressing room, he saw her in her wedding dress, prepared to head to the altar. However, he was still mad at her and expressed the same to her before informing her that now he wanted to speed up the ceremony, quickly get to the "I do" part, and get over with it.
"I don't know if, culturally that people in Brazil show up whenever they want to a wedding. But when I first put my eyes on her and see her at the top of the stairs, I am so mad at them and so angry. It's now an hour and 45 minutes after the time that our race was to happen. I'm furious for being made to wait for so long," he added in his confessional.
The sudden change of plans visibly shook Alliya, but when her soon-to-be husband asked how she felt about it, she simply said she was "okay" with it.
Shawn soon got to the altar and told his friend/wedding officiant, Angela, that he wanted her to skip to the end and only keep the part legally required for him to marry his 90 Day Fiancé partner.
With the last-minute changes being made, Alliya walked down the aisle. While looking at her in her wedding dress, Shawn shared in his confessional that they had spent so much time planning and talking about the dress, and now, finally talking about this moment.
The 90 Day Fiancé star added that he didn't look at the dress and had no idea what it was going to look like. However, seeing that dress in this situation, he said he wasn't able to tap into the excitement he hoped for.
After taking the vows, the 90 Day Fiancé season 11 couple went to the dining hall and waited in awkward silence as their family and friends joined them.
"This ceremony was fast and it's very surprise for me and I think a little bit disappointed to... like what happened? For me it's very easy to tame the situations and even if something very bad and like transform that for good thing. I'm trying to find the best part of it and I think I did my best. And I just wish him to feel happy and proud for this big moment of our story," Alliya expressed in her confessional.
While everyone was sitting at the dining table, Shawn's friend Stacy stood up and gave a toast, hoping for a bright future for the newlywed couple. However, when she asked Shawn to give a toast, he used it as an opportunity to primarily take a shot at Alliya for being late for their wedding.
